Jean skirts have been one of my favorite classic spring/ summer pieces since I was a little girl. I have some in various lengths (all above the knee) and in a variety of washes, but never thought about a long pair. I guess I always thought of long denim skirts as being super hippie (which isn’t a bad thing, just not my personal style) or being 90’s mom-wear in an unflattering and boring way.
When I came across this skirt that has a great length, a higher waist and the right amount of texture through the distressed material, I was sold on the spot. And the middle slit for ease of walking was perfect because the material is not really stretchy. I tried it on in store, which is something I rarely do, and then kept it on as I headed straight to the register to pay for it — something I’ve definitely never done. I’ve worn this skirt twice now, and both times I kept the look very simple to keep the skirt as my focal. As pictured, I paired it with a white top and booties for a full day of brunch and day drinking. Not pictured, I paired the skirt with a fitted black top, black pointy booties and a black beret to a date night. I enjoyed both looks and received lots of compliments!
I cannot find this skirt on H&M’s website, however, I recently purchased it in-store and stopped by yesterday to check if it was still available. It is! FYI: It was not part of their big sale. I’ve linked similar styles for items that are sold out or were purchased awhile back.
