A monochromatic look is a simple and chic look that allows for creativity through mixing textures. This style is defined by mixing pieces of one hue that can have different textures or even different shades of that color. When done correctly, a monochromatic look is simultaneously simple and striking. It supports the simple statement that less can indeed be more.
My monochromatic looks are typically done with a lighter palette such as nude, blush pink or white but I recently gave it a try with different shades of gray. I liked the way the texture of my off the shoulder sweater looked against the metallic skirt which added dimension. I threw in a few more shades of gray with suede OTK boots and an oversized scarf.
I think adding another texture and shade of gray would look great with this look. An cropped faux coat is great for a night out and a long gray duster is perfect for a clean day look.
