Yellow is such a beautiful color that took me awhile to incorporate into my wardrobe. Not only do I tend to unconsciously lean towards a neutral palette, but I was actually afraid of such a vibrant color at one point. Sounds wild, right? I don’t wear yellow all the time, but I am definitely much more open to it (and a more colorful wardrobe in general). This particular skirt from Forever 21 has a great mustard yellow tone for fall yet it is bright enough to continue wearing through summer and even in winter with over-the-knee boots or tights and booties. Major win for sure – I love grabbing pieces I can wear all year round.
I was lucky enough to grab this sweater during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year before it sold out. I like to wear it off the shoulder and it can be paired nicely with a pair of jeans or leggings. Let’s not forget the detail! I love the simple statement made with the cross back which adds a contemporary touch and the stripes around the wrist.
I had a few people inquire about my belt purse in this look which is a DIY piece. I grabbed an old belt I have and put a small hand clutch over the belt. It worked well for this look and it turned out so much better than I had expected. I love mix and matching different pieces to create something completely different and ends up being one-of-a-kind! 🙂
